Whether your campsite of choice is a neighborhood, local park site, backyard, or even a balcony, the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) is calling for American families to participate in their annual Great American Backyard Campout. On Saturday, June 23, you can bring your family together under the twinkling stars for a fun-filled night of adventure and exploration, all while helping to support NWF’s “Be Out There” movement.
As highlighted on NWF’s website, recent statistics show that a diminutive 25% of children are playing outside on a daily basis – quite a drastic drop from the 75% rate generations in the past once saw. NWF’s Be Out There movement is whole-heartedly committed to affording children the opportunity to play outdoors on a regular basis.
For every $1 that your family raises, the NWF will donate 80 cents towards their sponsored programs in order to reach this important, healthy goal. Families are encouraged to set either a personal or team fundraising goal at a minimum of $100. For further information regarding this event, or to register your family and/or to join in with an existing team, visit NWF’s website.
